Fatigue And Pregnancy, Can Be Normal Or
It May Be a Sign You Are Nutritionally
Depleted And Suffering A Double Dose Of
Pregnancy Fatigue.

Is it normal to have fatigue during
pregnancy? Read on to discover why
fatigue and pregnancy go hand in hand
and what you can do to make sure you are
not nutritionally depleted but have
normal fatigue during pregnancy.

Pregnancy is an amazing event in a
woman's life. No matter how long or how
hard we study pregnancy we will never
fully understand why women get fatigue
in early pregnancy.

Fatigue and pregnancy go hand in hand
caused by the growing baby:

From the moment of conception, the
developing fetus needs lots of vitamins
and minerals to ensure normal cell and
organ growth and to prevent congenital
abnormalities. As the developing fetus
grows it also grows a living organ
called the placenta. The placenta allows
vitamins, minerals, antioxidants,
oxygen, nutrients, hormones and blood to
cross from the mother's blood supply to
the developing fetus. This requires a
lot of physical energy and if you are
nutritionally depleted it can cause
fatigue in early pregnancy.

Mothers are care-givers by nature and
during pregnancy they unconditionally,
and continuously give all their reserve
nutrients to their offspring in an
attempt to grow a healthy baby. Under
normal pregnancy this is be a huge
physical drain on the mother's physical
energy level and this is why pregnant
women are given pre-natal vitamins to
try to prevent some of the fatigue in
early pregnancy.

A double dose of fatigue during
pregnancy caused by an unhealthy
nutritional reserve:

Prior pregnancy many men and women are
depleted in vitamins and minerals
because of our lifestyles and the food
we eat. Vitamins and minerals are
essential in building healthy cells and
organs. Many miscarriages are caused by
abnormal eggs and sperms due to the lack
of adequate vitamins and minerals in the
cells prior to conception.

A body lacking vitamins and minerals is
in a depleted state which can cause
physical disease, irritability,
depression and excess fatigue in early
pregnancy.

What to do to minimize pregnancy
fatigue:

Pregnant women need more sleep than
normal as when they sleep there is less
physical stress on the mother's body.
Therefore, sleep gives the mother a
better chance of adjusting to all the
demands of pregnancy, and helps minimize
fatigue during pregnancy.

It is very important as soon as you know
you are pregnant to take vitamins and
minerals, especially folic acid
(600-micrograms) as folic acid helps
prevent congenital abnormalities. If
you are not already supplementing your
diet with vitamins and minerals, then
purchase some until you have an
appointment with your health care
provider to help prevent some of your
pregnancy fatigue.

Better still, if you are planning to get
pregnant, start supplementing your diet
with vitamins and minerals to make your
body more nutritionally sound, reduce
miscarriage risk and reduce the degree
of fatigue in early pregnancy.

OK I have spoken a lot about vitamins,
minerals and antioxidants and you may be
wondering how could you be nutritionally
depleted or even be tired if you already
supplement. Well the truth is most
people supplement with vitamins only and
they supplement with a pill delivery
system which has a very poor absorption
rate. The best way to supplement is a
liquid delivery system which has about a
95%PRCTG% absorption rate. Vitamins alone are
not good enough, the body needs minerals
for optimal health and minerals are
necessary to absorb vitamins.

Pregnancy can be an extraordinary
experience for a woman. It is far more
than growing a baby and dealing with
issues like fatigue. Pregnancy has a
huge emotional, mental, spiritual, and
energetic side to it. The more you
understand these aspects, the easier and
less symptomatic your pregnancy will be.
Learning how to connect with the
emotions of your unborn child will allow
you to enhance your pregnancy experience
and surrender to its normal
physiological process of pregnancy
fatigue.

4 Things You Didn't Know About Vitamins

When vitamins were first created
synthetically, their creators may not
have foreseen the extent to which they
would become a part of everyday life. It
seems odd to consider that vitamin C,
the first vitamin made in a laboratory,
was actually synthesized in 1935. The
world was an entirely different place
then - most people cooked and ate
nutritious, well balanced home meals.
The pace of life was more orderly. Work
was not the dominant and demanding force
it is now. Images of bone thin women
weren't plastered on the covers of
magazines. In all, there seemed to be a
more healthy relationship with the body,
and what was needed to take care of it.

Fast forward to today, and vitamins are
even available in the supermarket. They
seem to fit well into the demands of our
modern society too. We certainly need
every little bit of help to keep up with
what's required of us.

But some good things have come out of
the development and acceptance of
vitamin supplements. One powerful
understanding is the effect that
nutrients like vitamins can not only
prevent diseases, but they can actually
treat some. For example, way back in
1747, people knew that citrus fruits
like lemons could help people with
scurvy. But it wasn't considered very
credible in the mainstream. Although
those whose lives depended on it, those
individuals on long sea voyages, knew
this truth and used it well, even when
it wasn't official policy.

Here are 4 more little known facts about
vitamins:

* When A Vitamin Is Not A Vitamin

The supplement group often called
Vitamin P are actually not vitamins.
These are bioflavanoids, which help keep
the capillaries and blood vessels
healthy. They prevent vitamin C from
oxidizing, and the bioflavanoids
actually increase the effectiveness of
vitamin C.

Bioflavaoids also help prevent bleeding
and bruising, and support the immune
system, preventing infection. They are
often found in the same places as
vitamin C, such as the skin and pith of
citrus fruit, grapes, papaya, and
cherries. They are also found in
peppers, onions, and garlic.

* Our Intestines Do Double Time As A
Vitamin Factory

We actually produce two vitamins in our
intestines - biotin and vitamin K. They
are made there by the 'good' bacteria
that also keep harmful bacteria, yeast,
and other microorganisms at bay. When
our gut bacterial population is
imbalanced, one of the things that is
affected is our ability to make these
vitamin. That's why probiotics are so
important.

Biotin is stored in the skin, and when
we're in the sun, it becomes a good
source of vitamin D. Vitamin K is
important for bone health.

* Energy Boosting Vitamin

Niacin, one of the B group vitamins, is
great for tiredness, irritability, and
digestive problems. This is due to the
fact that it improves our ability to
absorb nutrients from food. Niacin is
found in cheese, peanuts, beef, liver,
chicken, eggs, fish, and whole grains.

* Magnesium, Heart Health, And Metabolic
Syndrome

Metabolic syndrome is a condition where
people have high blood pressure, high
blood sugar levels, high levels of fats
in their blood,, and low levels of
healthy cholesterol. Often it is
challenging for people with metabolic
syndrome to lose weight, but more
seriously, if can develop into diabetes
and heart disease.

But scientists found that having a diet
high in magnesium lowered the risk of
developing metabolic syndrome by as much
as 31%PRCTG%. Magnesium can be found in green
vegetables, avocados, whole grains.
bananas, nuts and milk.

Essential Minerals and Vitamins for Hair

Most people know that vitamins are great
keys to maintaining a healthy body and
overall form of life. They are abundant
and can bring about many health
benefits. Nutrition is not just vital to
your overall health, but is important to
the health of your hair as well. While
our bodies need a variety vitamins and
minerals to support certain functions,
there are specific ones that will
promote healthy hair.

Vitamin C is probably the most popular
vitamin in the world. It's found in
almost every single fruit including
oranges. You know it for being a great
boost to your immune system, but what
you may not have known is that it's a
hidden key to unlocking the growth of
your hair.

However even though vitamin A is a
really good vitamin to take for your
hair, you have to be careful. Taking too
much vitamin A will have a counter
effect and lead to thin hair. So be very
watchful that you do not exceed the
recommended daily allowance of vitamin
A. Vitamin B2 is essential for enhancing
the production of sebum on scalp that
keeps the scalp healthy and promotes
hair growth.

One benefit of vitamins is that that
they can really prove to be beneficial
for those losing hair. If you want to
regrow more hair and fight off the
effects of baldness, then you need to
consider your vitamin intake. This
vitamin can be commonly found in many
types of foods - soy beans, wheat,
ready-to-eat cereals, grains, beans,
spinach, nuts, eggs, and many other
green leafy vegetables. If you find that
your daily diet lacks the above
ingredients, you can always consider
taking health supplements in the form of
pills and capsules to make up for the
lack in vitamin E.

The best vitamins for hair growth
include B-vitamins and zinc. A
deficiency in B-vitamins can actually
promote hair loss while too much vitamin
A can also have the same effect. It's
important not to overdo your intake of
essential vitamins so following the
recommended daily value will help to
ensure balance.

Parched, lifeless hair is caused by too
much exposure to the sun, wind, and
water. The excessive use of hair styling
products, blow drying, hair perm, hair
straightening, hair coloring and use of
other chemical treatments can also
damage the hair and make it dry and
dull. To bring back the luster in your
hair, buy a hair vitamin or hair product
with the chemical inositol in it.

Herbal Acne Cures - The Importance of
Minerals and Vitamins

Are you the one who is suffering from
bad acne and want a cure which will be
permanent as well as natural. You might
have tried a lot of remedies but most of
them were just wastage of money. If you
go out in the market you will find a
number of natural as well as herbal acne
cures which are available.

But you must understand one thing that
all acne remedies are suitable for you.
A remedy which works for you does not
mean that it will work even for your
friend. If you want to have an herbal
approach to your acne, then first of all
you need to check your minerals and
vitamin levels.

The intake of vitamin A is very
important, so firstly keep a check on
the intake of vitamin A. This vitamin
helps you to promote a healthy skin. The
next vitamin which you need to keep a
check on is vitamin E. This is also a
necessary vitamin if you want to keep
your skin healthy.

Vitamin E is a natural antioxidant. This
vitamin helps a lot in the treatment of
acne. After you check the vitamins you
need to look at the zinc level. Zinc is
known to repair the skin as well as
boost up the immune system of your body.
These are very important for the herbal
acne cures.

There is no need to waste your money on
those acne skin care products because
most of them do not work. But if you
keep your minerals and vitamin levels in
a check, then you need not have to
suffer from acne anymore.

You need to have the basic building

Muscle Building Diet - Are Vitamins
Essential, Or is it Money Down the Drain

Probably the most controversial subject
in the world of bodybuilding, is the use
of supplements. Should they be used as
part of a muscle building diet? The only
person who can answer that question is
you. You should do your research, check
out the pros and cons, and make your
decision as to what supplements (if any)
you use.

What about vitamins? Are they essential?
Or are they a waste of money? Let`s
look.

Everybody needs vitamins to keep the
body working efficiently and help
optomize the metabolism. Vitamins work
together with enzymes within our bodies
to spark chemical reactions, which is
basically what our body is - a whole
heap of chemical reactions.

Here are some of the more important
vitamins, and what they do;

Vitamin A

This helps to combine amino acids, which
help with muscle tissue formation, which
is needed for muscle growth. It also
helps with glycogen storage.

Vitamin B1 (Thiamine)

Encourages the growth of hemogloben, to
carry oxygen around the body.

Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin)

This is a very good assistant with fat
burning, and helps to get energy from
carbohydrates.

Vitamin B3 (Niacin)

Helps the muscles look fuller and
vascular, through vasodilation.

Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine)

Aids protein digestion, your muscle
building diet will have a higher intake
of protein than normal diets, therefore
a larger amount of B6 is needed.

Vitamin B12 (Cobalamine)

Has an effect on the growth of muscles,
also aids co-ordination and
communication between brain and muscle.

Vitamin C

You could probably write a book about
the benefits of vitamin C, but I`ll be
brief and just list the main
advantages;- production of hormonal
steroids, improves iron absorption, aids
formation of collagen, anti-oxidant to
rid body of free radicals, and , as we
all know , it is a good anti viral -
protecting against colds and flu.

Vitamin D

Good for calcium absorption - for strong
bones and joints. Good for phospherous
absorption - improves energy levels.

Vitamin E

As antioxidants go, this is probably the
most powerful, it`s the Royal
Flush.........literally. It flushes out
the body`s natural waste products.

From this, we can see that vitamins are
essential in your muscle building diet.
They are needed to replete those
burned-up by intense work-outs. They are
also essential to aid digestion in a
high calorie, bodybuilding diet.

Vitamins: Fat Or Water Soluble?

Vitamins are organic substances
essential in small amounts for the
body's normal growth and activity. They
are obtained naturally from plant and
animal foods. Vitamins have two
classifications, fat- or water-soluble,
depending on the materials in which they
dissolve.

Fat-Soluble Vitamins:

Fat-soluble vitamins include A, D, E and
K. These vitamins are stored in the
body's fat tissues before they are
absorbed in the blood stream. Because
the body stores these vitamins, it is
not always necessary to get a fresh
supply each day. Caution should be used
when taking fat-soluble vitamins to
avoid the potential of harmful, toxic
levels.

Fat-soluble vitamins are required for
the maintenance of healthy bones, skin
and hair and for bringing nourishment to
the cells. Vitamin A is essential for
vision, especially night vision. Vitamin
K is essential for the formation of
blood-clotting proteins.

The major dietary sources of these
vitamins are green leafy vegetables,
deep orange or yellow fruits and
vegetables, cod liver oil, sardines,
butter, egg yolks, fortified milk,
almonds, wheat germ, peanut butter, corn
oil, sunflower seeds, and liver.

Water-Soluble Vitamins:

Water-soluble vitamins include B1, B2,
B3, B6, B12 and vitamin C, as well as
folic acid and biotin. Water-soluble
vitamins, unlike fat-soluble vitamins,
are not easily stored in the body and
are often lost from foods in the cooking
process. It is therefore important to
include these vitamins in a daily
dietary regimen.

B vitamins are involved in fat and
protein breakdown. The B vitamins are
required for healthy nervous system
function, healthy skin, hair, eyes and
liver function. Some of the B vitamins
require other B vitamins to work
correctly in the body.

Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) is important
to the body in the production of
collagen, creating connective tissue and
supporting our organs. Other functions
include protecting the fat-soluble
vitamins and preventing scurvy.

The major dietary sources of these
vitamins are cereal grains, meat,
poultry, eggs, fish, milk, legumes and
fresh vegetables. Vitamin C is found in
citrus fruits, guava, red bell pepper,
papaya, orange juice, broccoli, green
bell pepper, strawberries, cantaloupe,
tomato juice, mango, potato,

cabbage, tomato, collard greens,
spinach, Brussels sprouts, turnip
greens, cauliflower, blackberries, and
blueberries.

Anti Aging Nutrition

Your body is your temple, and what you
give it nutritionally can have a vast
impact on your health. As the body ages,
many changes take place, and by taking
in the proper vitamins and minerals, you
can minimize the negative health effects
that you experience as you grow older.
In this article, we'll mention some of
the important nutrients that one needs
to intake as they age to help keep in
proper health.

As you age, your body's ability to
properly process the vitamins that you
eat decreases. For that reason, it is
important to increase the amounts of
vitamins that you intake. Since
osteoporosis occurs in those of an older
age, it is of the utmost importance to
ensure that your body gets enough
Vitamin D. While those in their twenties
only need to take in 200 IUs of Vitamin
D per day, those aged 60 and above are
recommended to take in about 600 IUs.
The B-Vitamin Complex is also an
important vitamin that our body loses
the ability to process over time. A lack
of B vitamins can lead to a risk for
heart disease and possible memory loss,
and for that reason, those of an older
age need to make sure that they get all
the B vitamins that they can get.
Calcium is also a particularly important
nutrient when it comes to aging; along
with Vitamin D, it helps the bones to
mineralize properly, warding off the
effects of osteoporosis.

When it comes to actual foods that you
should eat to avoid aging significantly,
a diet that is high in both fruits and
vegetables is recommended. Those who
indulge in these types of foods often
are found to have lower rates of disease
as well as higher levels of energy and a
healthier appearance. There are many
reasons that these types of foods are
recommended; most fruits and vegetables
have no cholesterol, fat, or sodium,
which are three harmful compounds that
have a negative effect on health. In
addition to the lack of bad substances
found in fruits and vegetables, they are
also rich in the vitamins and minerals
that your body needs. Practically every
essential vitamin and mineral can be
found throughout the fruit and vegetable
world, and a minimum of five fruits and
vegetables per day are recommended by
the National Cancer Institute.

Anti-oxidants are also important when it
comes to aging; this type of compound is
useful in the way that it helps the body
to protect itself against the harmful
effects of free radicals, which are
rogue cells that attack the cell
membranes of your body, causing
premature cell death. Many fruits and
vegetables include anti-oxidants,
including carrots and tomatoes.

Following these basic principles is a
great way to get your health on track as
you age, helping you to ensure that you
will live a healthy life.

Pregnancy Food ? Foods an Expectant
Mother Should Be Concentrating On

Few people eating their morning oatmeal
or digging into their lunchtime sandwich
give a thought to the vitamins and
minerals they?re about to absorb. But
every food we eat contains some of these
essential elements so vital to
sustaining our health and life. During
pregnancy, their mission becomes even
more important, as they fuel the needs
of two bodies.

Expectant mothers need to take in more
of these vitamins and minerals than ever
before. Although prenatal vitamins can
be a good source, expectant mothers can
benefit even more from the foods they
choose. Pregnancy food refers to those
foods which contain the vitamins and
minerals an expectant mother will have
most need of during her pregnancy.

Here you will find a short list of
vitamins and minerals most commonly in
demand during pregnancy, and the foods
you will find them in. True pregnancy
food;

Vitamin A

Broccoli, carrots, spinach, sweet
potatoes, oatmeal and whole grains,
cantaloupe, apricots, and dairy products
are high in vitamin A. Truly deserving
to be called pregnancy food. Unlike
supplements, you can?t get too much
vitamin A from your diet.

B Vitamins

Meat and dairy are good sources of a
wide variety of B vitamins. Vegetarian
sources include oatmeal and whole
grains, beans, peas, nuts, brown rice,
potatoes and tomatoes, spinach,
mushrooms, cauliflower, asparagus, leafy
green vegetables. Also, most fruits are
included. And avocados, bananas, oranges
and grapefruits are a good source of
folic acid as well. Good pregnancy food,
all of them.

Vitamin C and E

While the importance of vitamin C and E
can not be overstressed, nature is
efficient, and you will generally get
what you need from those groups listed
above. Don?t count out nuts and seeds as
a good pregnancy food; they are an
excellent source of vitamin E and
essential fats.

Vitamin D

Get some sun. You may not particularly
feel like it at this time but try to get
a little sun each day, weather
permitting. Your body will take care of
the rest. You can also find D in
fortified skim milk, egg yolks, and
sardines. More about fish as pregnancy
food, in a minute.

Calcium

Almonds, dried figs, broccoli, sardines
and canned salmon with the bones are
good sources of calcium.

Iron and Zinc

Eating dark meat turkey or beef can be a
good source of both iron and zinc.
Oatmeal contains both as well.

Fish as Pregnancy Food - The Good and
the Bad

Eating fish, particularly oil rich
varieties such as salmon, trout, and
sardines is good for you, especially
during pregnancy. The oils in fatty fish
contain particular omega3 fatty acids
not found naturally in other foods that
are essential pregnancy food for the
healthy development of brain, retina,
and nervous tissue of your child.

Omega3?s must be obtained from foods
because the body cannot make them from
other fats.

Although fish is a pregnancy food must,
it may contain contaminants such as
mercury, among others, that are harmful
to your developing baby. The thing to
know here is that the larger varieties
of fish are the ones carrying the
highest contents of mercury. If you
stick to salmon, farmed trout, herring
and sardines, you are generally safe
although you want to eat these in
moderation. Twice, maybe three times a
week at most. You may also enjoy
shellfish if you desire. They are known
to be low in contaminants, but they
offer less omega3 as well.

Remember to eat small and often, this
will keep your blood sugar levels
steady. If you need to cheat on your
diet to stay sane, try to keep it down
to one day out of the week. Stick to the
right pregnancy food and receive a
healthy, happy child. And don?t forget,
it will make it that much easier to get
back into shape after delivery.

Prostate Vitamins ? How Effective Are
They?

There are plenty of reports out there to
indicate taking prostate vitamins and
supplements can help to prevent such
problems from becoming a factor. With so
many men being diagnosed with prostate
cancer annually this is information many
people are paying attention to. Before
you rush out there though and buy these
vitamins you need to get all of the
facts.

While some of information has indicated
that such vitamins and nutrients may
help to prevent prostate cancer there is
more to it. What you may find is that
they are only offering you common
vitamins and minerals that a person
should have in order to keep themselves
healthy from all types of ailments. You
do have to be careful because some of
them claim that they will help to
increase your immune system against
prostate problems. Yet there is no real
medical evidence out there to
substantiate that.

There have been some independent studies
done out there that indicate many of
them don?t contain what they say they do
on the bottle. This is a huge concern as
many people take the time to identify
those products with the ingredients
necessary to help them. Since they don?t
have what they say they do, there is no
way such products are doing anything at
all to prevent prostate problems from
occurring.

There are better ways you can go about
preventing prostate problems though that
don?t require you to take such chances.
One of the biggest things you can do is
to change your diet. There are certain
foods that will help your body to stay
very healthy. For example tomatoes
contain a high amount of Beta Carotene.
This is a vitamin that has been proven
to help prevent prostate problems
including cancer.

There have also been studies to indicate
a male with a sexually transmitted
disease is more prone to prostate
problems. Chlamydia is a very common STD
out there and a large number of men with
it also suffer from prostate problems.
Having protected sex then is definitely
a way in which you can lower your
chances of suffering from such prostate
problems.

There are many different types of cancer
out there, and prostate cancer is one of
them. The statistics indicate more than
? of all men will have a problem with
their prostate at one time or another.
Therefore making changes now to your
lifestyle can help to ensure you aren?t
among them. Talk to your doctor for
further steps you can take to lower your
risk of prostate cancer now and in the
future.
